Spa Creek Conservancy is celebrating a decade of that work with a milestone worth getting in the water for.
🏊 THE SWIM Dare to take the plunge? Swimmers will cross Spa Creek from Truxtun Park to Amos Garrett Waterfront Park — a living testament to a decade of progress toward making our Creek swimmable again. Don’t worry, you won’t be alone out there. Kayakers will escort every swimmer across, and water taxis will bring you back to Truxtun Park after you’ve had a chance to celebrate on the other side. Hand sanitizing stations will be available at Amos Garrett.
🍺 THE SIP Cold beer, wine, and refreshments will be waiting for you at Amos Garrett Waterfront Park. Whether you just crossed the Creek or came straight from your car, you’ve earned it.
🎉 THE CELEBRATION This is ten years in the making. We’ll have displays showcasing the remarkable progress in Spa Creek’s water quality over the past decade — from early monitoring results to today’s data — and the people who made it happen. Come see just how far our Creek has come.
NOT A SWIMMER? NO PROBLEM. Absolutely everyone is welcome at Amos Garrett for food, beverages, and the celebration. This is a free community event — bring your family, your neighbors, and anyone who loves Spa Creek.
