St. Anne’s Episcopal Church and Cemetery will celebrate America’s 250th birthday by joining the Annapolis250 events taking place throughout the city on Maryland Day, March 19 – 25. Maryland Day events culminate on March 25, the date in 1634 when the first European settlers disembarked from the Ark and the Dove in Maryland.
As part of the celebration, St. Anne’s will offer church tours at 1 p.m. and cemetery tours at 2 p.m. on March 21 and 22. Both tours are free. Participants can meet at the church in Church Circle and go on both tours from there, or they can go to the cemetery’s main gate at Northwest Street and West Washington Street. Just look for the monuments straight ahead.Â
The tours will highlight the stories of the people who donated to St. Anne’s and how their donations made St. Anne’s what it is today. Many of these donors are buried in the church’s cemetery.
