Description

Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) and Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL) All‑Star Weekend will take place at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis on July 4 and 5, 2026, bringing the signature professional lacrosse event of the year to one of the sport’s most passionate hometowns.

“Lacrosse runs deep in Anne Arundel County, and Annapolis is one of the sport’s true hometowns,” said Kristen Pironis, CEO of Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County. “Hosting both the Premier Lacrosse League’s and Women’s Lacrosse League’s All-Star Weekend at the U.S. Naval Academy brings the game to a place defined by mission, discipline, and tradition. As fans gather in our historic waterfront city, the impact will be felt well beyond the field—supporting local hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that are part of the Annapolis experience.”

The two‑day celebration will feature men’s and women’s All‑Star Games, a Skills Challenge, youth clinics, fan engagement zones, and charitable community activities—showcasing Annapolis and Anne Arundel County to lacrosse fans across the country. In addition to elite competition, the weekend will include a Day of Service and community‑driven activations, along with the Premier Zone offering interactive games, meet‑and‑greets, and family‑friendly experiences.

“Maryland is the state of lacrosse, and Annapolis is one of the game’s biggest lacrosse towns. There’s something special about bringing our players and fans together in a setting that carries so much history – especially on the Fourth of July," said Paul Rabil, Co-Founder & President of the Premier Lacrosse League. "Hosting the PLL and WLL All-Star Games at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is a celebration of the people who love this game, the players who define its highest level, and the deep roots of America’s first sport.”

Beyond the excitement on the field, All‑Star Weekend will create a ripple effect of economic activity throughout Anne Arundel County. In addition to hosting more than 250 players and staff, the influx of fans will fill local hotels, dine in neighborhood restaurants, and explore shops and attractions—providing a welcome boost for businesses over the holiday weekend. Last year’s All‑Star Game became the most‑watched game in PLL history on ESPN, setting the stage for Annapolis to gain national exposure in 2026. These benefits underscore how major lacrosse events strengthen our destination and support the people and businesses who make Anne Arundel County such a vibrant place to visit.

Maryland is widely recognized as the epicenter of American lacrosse, a distinction rooted in centuries of history and a culture that embraces the sport at every level. Lacrosse is Maryland’s official state team sport, and the state is often referred to as the “lacrosse heartland” thanks to its deep Indigenous origins, its dominance in collegiate play, and its role as home to the USA Lacrosse headquarters, the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, and leading equipment innovators like STX. From youth leagues to powerhouse college programs, lacrosse is woven into the identity of communities across Maryland, making the state a natural host for major national events and a central force in the sport’s continued growth.

Rooted deeply in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, the sport has long been a defining part of local culture and competition. Annapolis is home to some of the sport’s most influential programs and events, including the Naptown Challenge, HoganLax tournaments, and a vibrant youth and high school lacrosse tradition. The U.S. Naval Academy’s recent investment in new lacrosse facilities further strengthens the region’s position as a premier destination for high‑level competition. Local lacrosse icon, founder of the Naptown Challenge and one of the sport’s most respected figures, Dave Cottle, was recently named General Manager of the PLL’s Philadelphia Waterdogs—adding even more local connection to the league and the events of All-Star Weekend.

All-Star rosters for both leagues and additional details regarding game formats and fan events will be announced later this year.
