Description

A full day of community, culture, and serious musical energy is coming to Annapolis on Saturday, April 11 — and it's free.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and African Diaspora Festival runs 12–8 PM, kicking off with a parade that steps off from Amos Garrett Blvd. and winds through the city to Calvert Street. Then the festival takes over with live music, food vendors, local artisans, and kids' activities hosted by the Chesapeake Children's Museum.

The headliner alone is worth clearing your schedule: the legendary Junkyard Band — one of Go-Go's most iconic acts — headlines a stacked lineup that also includes Clones of Funk, GMOS Band, Prosperity Band, Project 360, The Shyne Band, and Josiah.

It's a celebration of Dr. King's legacy and the vibrant culture of the African diaspora, all in the heart of downtown. Come for the parade, stay for the concert, leave very full.
